Most of the time, they will have a general channel for all members of staff to chat within. Make sure to spend some time chatting within this channel. It’s a great way to talk to everyone at the same time and to show them you’re an open line of communication.
Monthly online hangouts.
Participate with any online hangouts the company does. Some companies do weekly or monthly, but it’s a great way for everyone to see each other virtually in an informal manner, joke around and speak about what’s going on in each other’s lives.
Make a point to conversate.
When joining a new company it can be extremely daunting to put yourself out there and talk to people you’ve never met. But try to! Making a point to conversate with other members of staff will show your friendly and want to be a part of the team. You’ll find once you’ve reached out. They’ll start reaching out to you as well.
It’s easy to forget the importance of face to face meetings when remote working. We all get used to working from home and virtually connecting that we forget about the importance of connecting in person.
If your company holds a meetup make sure to attend. It’s a great way to meet the people you’ve met online and build a better connection with them.
Send daily snapshots.
Nothing screams bonding with your co-workers than sending a cute picture of your cat or dog. Sending daily snapshots of your food, animals, or something you found funny on the internet is a great way for someone to get to know you better.
