The Software Academy is full-stack software development course aimed at upskilling/reskilling diverse groups and communities to an entry-level standard who are looking for a long-term career in Software Development.

We have developed the course content based on the skills required in the software industry. We focus on getting our graduates job-ready with hard and soft skills, including communication, collaborative working, creativity, problem-solving and the ability to work to deadlines in an agile environment.

During the Software Academy students will earn the BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile. On completion of the BCS certificate students will receive a free 1-year Associate Membership to BCS.


Course Contents

The Software Academy course focuses on fundamental areas. The aim is to equip all learners with a blend of technical and personal skills to launch their career.

The technical part of the course is significantly hands-on including practical tasks and projects to consolidate learning in a real-life environment, we combine trainer led sessions and self study.

Each module has either a practical project or tasks to demonstrate skills. Either of these approaches provides the learner with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the topic.

  • Coding Fundamentals
  • Introduction to Object Oriented Programming
  • Introduction to Test Driven Development
  • Introduction to Data Analysis
  • HTML and CSS Fundamentals
  • Introduction to JavaScript and Interactive and Responsive Web Design
  • Introduction to Full-Stack Applications
  • Security Fundamentals
  • Agile Foundation (BCS)


Our Fully Funded Academies do have eligibility criteria which must be met in order for a learner to qualify for a course.
