We’re excited to announce that we’ll be joining the lineup at Bristol Tech Festival next week, a week dedicated to showcase the best tech the region has to offer. As we start a new decade, the festival will look at what’s next for the Bristol Tech Cluster and the impact it will have on the local region.
Join our Director of Women in Cyber Academy, Jane Frankland, and her fellow panellists Dr Nathalie Cole, Chapter Lead at Cheltenham Ladies Hacking Society, Caroline Vaughan, Head of Commercial and Business Development at Innovate Finance and James Reynolds, Talent Acquisition Manager at Immersive Labs, as they discuss Upskilling & Getting Started in Tech.
Taking place on Thursday 12th November from 15:30-16:30, the panellists will explore the benefits of working in the tech industry, while offering their personal experiences of their journey into tech and the barriers they overcame to build successful careers.
In addition to sharing their inspiring stories, they’ll also be discussing the skills gap in the tech sector, particularly in Cyber Security. With research showing that the global shortfall of Cyber Security jobs estimated to hit 3.5 million by 2021, they’ll be looking at what’s needed to bridge the gap, while looking at the reaction to the Government’s recent cyber training advert.
If you want to get started in tech but aren’t sure where to start, you won’t want to miss this. As well as sharing their journeys, Jane, Nathalie and Caroline will be sharing crucial advice on how to get to where you want to be in the next year, and will be on hand to answer your questions at the end of the session.
