Suzannah Downie

Technical Trainer: Women in Data Academy

Having gained my degree in English Literature, a career in the tech industry is not something that I had initially planned. After graduation and by sheer chance, I landed a tech role at global academic publisher Taylor & Francis. I became an Information Systems Specialist, providing systems support and training to academics using peer review systems. It is here that I began to dip my toe in to the waters of technology as I found myself working with large amounts of data and dealing with complex technical issues.

After relocating to the West Midlands in 2017, I worked in the Higher Education sector before moving on to become a Business Analyst at a small software as a service (SaaS) start-up in Warwick. In addition to this, I am an Associate Member of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

I am delighted to be part of the TechTalent Academy team. As a graduate of the Women in Data Academy myself, I know first-hand how life changing it can be. I am committed to helping to bridge the digital skills gap by supporting new and diverse talent into this rewarding and exciting industry.
